The Last StateWide|Stance Feature

It’s sad to say that StateWide|Stance is closing their doors. Everyone has things in life that they have to deal with and its always an inconvenient time when things will happen. 

I got to meet up with a great group of people from SWS and Stay Sideways. I hope in the near future SWS comes back in full force. For now, Enjoy the last full Feature from StateWide|Stance.

Whats a SC-430!

It’s a Lexus.. yeah, I said it LEXUS! This is actually an upgrade of the older model SC300 and SC400. The older model SC300/400s were built to battle it out on the tracks with the Infinity M30 and the Acura Legend in the luxury model class.But since Lexus didn’t have one anything to compete, they produced the SC. It proved to be a sturdy platform and made its way into the hearts of the American public in the early 90′s. The SC300 was powered by a 2JZ-GE (V6) engine while the SC400 had the heart of a V8 tucked inside of it. In 2001 Lexus decided to cater to an older audience and made the SC430 look sleek and elegant, but dangerous if handled the wrong way. The new model SC comes with a V8 pushing out about 280hp.This is the same V8 found in the older LS400s.
So whats all this history about…. Daigo Saitos SC430! He replaced every nut, screw, and bolt on his Formula Drift SC430. He even decided to scrap the V8 and throw in a V6. What a stupid move, but wait… is it?

This is not your ordinary 2JZ. This is a 1200Hp 2JZ-GTE. The motor is often found resting in the frame of the Toyota Supra.

Thanks to AWOL.TV we can all see what its really like to be at Formula Drift. This event kicked off the 2012 Formula Drift Season with a nothing but pure action. From start to finish there was always something to do or watch.
